Definitely some of the best food we've had in Green Bay for the price. We decided to come because of the reviews and we weren't let down. The sad part is we woke up too late and missed breakfast, which sucked, because apparently breakfast is the best food here. So keep that in mind, breakfast isn't served all day! We did do the lunch though, and that was good. My husband had the steak, it was a good cut of meat and well cooked for under $10. Can't beat it. I had a huge burger (the "Smokey dog" which was BBQ, bacon, cheddar, and onion rings.) It was delicious, but I'm a little disappointed there were no veggies. My husband was also disappointed at a lack of a third dish on his plate. Don't get me wrong, meat and potatoes are always good, but a dash of freshness in a dish not only adds to the overall flavor but also the healthiness LOL! The French fries were very well seasoned. My burger however came with potato chips, some of which were soggy (hence the 4/5.) The shop is decorated with mix-matched chairs and sofa's from the 70's, and the walls are peppered with extremely colorful art. It's definitely got a hipster feel, but has diner-like food. The ambiance-food difference also didn't clash well with me--but still! A great place to grab food for the price in Green Bay!

This little place is a hidden gem in Green Bay. We have never had a bad meal and the staff is always friendly. The decor is just funky enough to be trendy. Plenty of parking around the building and some cute little tables on the sidewalk if you wish to sit outside. I think my favorite is the Portabella sandwich but the Eggs Benedict are delicious too. Good beer selection and they make a good Bloody Mary.

Everything was top- notch; as usual. We met old friends for Sunday Brunch this past weekend! Server and hostess were accomadating and made us feel welcomed! Food & beverages were to die for. Made reservations due to the email notifying us to do so a few days prior.. Good idea! Worth the wait if you just pop in! Always happy to visit White Dog- Black Cat!!! But, a little sad (not too sad ) that our secret is out!!! One of our favorites for sure! WD-BC. Thanks for all you do for Green Bay Area folks like me!!!

This place is awesome! Was introduced to it a couple years back-wish it was earlier. A serious heavy hitter and a hidden gem here in Green Bay. I love the flat iron steak-only like $10. Bloodies on Sunday morning are huge and have a nice kick. Although it was a special, I had their corned beef and I swear it was better than any St. Patrick's day up here. Really looking forward to someday purchasing some art off the walls. Keep up the good work!

Loved this place!! Great menu, eclectic decor, casual. Sweet potato fries with marshmallow cream sauce were awesome. Portobello sandwich was perfect. Can't wait to come back!

The White Dog Black Cat on Broadway in Green Bay has two menus a lunch and dinner menu and then a brunch menu. Being one of the few establishments in the area that one would like to attend a brunch at it does quite good business on the weekends. The menu is more varied than some of the other eateries in the Green Bay area so that does make it superior to other restaurants in town. What with multiple takes on eggs Benedict and body marry's which are apparently awards winning but it seems like everywhere days that about theirs, so I guess if you like that kind of thing good for you. Now let's talk about what everyone wants to know. If you don't like hipsters with their smug sneering attitude that implies that they are better than you and .they are barely allowing the yuppies to eat there you then have to deal with the staff. So you're in the for what do you do take a seat or wait to be seated, either way you lose if you just take a seat be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for someone to notice you are at a table and if you wait for then at the site they just tell you to sit anywhere. Once you have cleared this hurdle it doesn't take long to order and get your food, that is unless you want a refill on anything. Them comes the check which they never bring you and one they do they forget about you again and take another 15 minutes to collect it so if you want change stick around. How to avoid this you're wondering, I suggest making friends with the servers sometime like say at least 5 years before you come in before a meal. And then of course my least favorite time to attend is a day when there is a football game in town everyone wants to drink in the morning before the game so these inconsiderate customers make it nearly impossible to get a table so you can eat and the staff doesn't care and just tells you it will be another 45 minutes but that's only bc the pathetic brainwashed slobs all have to leave to get to the stadium which I could care less since I just want to eat. I will leave you to draw your own conclusions.

Super solid lunch option. The portions are generous and they have really creative and delcious cocktails and a fairly decent beer list. Love the laidback "friend's kitchen" kind of atmosphere they have going on. It's the type of place I like to linger in, and that makes it a rarity for what it's worth. I've had a few of the burgers, the standout being the swamp burger. I also like that they have a couple veggie options and everything seems to be homemade in house including the great chips that come with every sandwich. In addition to great lunch, I've also ended up here at night for a bluegrass show. Great little venue that draws a fun-time bar crowd. Great energy -- hope tot catch a band or two there in the future.

I'm surprised to see such mixed reviews, because my Sunday brunch yesterday was pretty excellent at this divey little cafe. I went with the Badger Bloody (they have a whole Bloody Mary list), which came with cheese and a meat stick garnish. Perfect for the morning after a 'sconsin wedding (as was the couch near the window where one of my friends spent much of our meal laying down, leaving her eggs and bacon untouched). For eats, I had the pulled pork benedict, served on cornbread with a spicy hollandaise (not all that spicy). It was too huge and rich for me to finish, but it was tasty. Most of the breakfast items come with potato coins, like Taco John's potato oles... but a lot bigger and better. We didn't get to explore too much of Green Bay, but we were glad to have found this place to fuel up for the drive home.

I've been to White Dog/Black Cat on multiple occasions. While this bar serves food and drinks all day during the week, the only time I've eaten there is for their Sunday breakfast. You can start your Sunday breakfast with coffee, a flavorful coffee cocktail, or one of their creative Bloody Marys, which can be topped with flavorful and unusual garnishes. The dishes on the menu include traditional breakfast dishes like French Toast, Eggs Benedict, and steak and eggs. However, the menu also offers some twists on the classics, like the Pulled Pork Benedict, or the Heart-Attack Stack (A loaded breakfast sandwich). Breakfast and booze are an essential part of any Wisconsin morning routine. Combine that with friendly service, and you have an experience that should be enjoyed regularly.

Exceptional food for very fair prices. The quality of the food and great service is wonderful! Our server was very thoughtful and brought a stack of napkins to our table just in case the young child at our table had a spill. The environment feels laid back, hip, and inviting. The attached bar has a good vibe to it as well. Seems like friendly good hearted people are drawn to an establishment with as friendly of a name as White Dog Black Cat!

For the last 4 years,I have been coming yearly to Green Bay to run the Green Bay Marathon. And for the last three years, I always make it a point to stop in. This time, we tried the Friday Fish Fry. 3 large walleye fillets, potatoes, coleslaw along with homemade tartar sauce for less than $10. It can't be beat. The breading on the walleye was hot and crisp without being oily and really let the fish shine through. We also tried the homemade sweet potato fries with homemade marshmallow dipping sauce. Not to be missed! The cafe has a cool funky vibe...a nice mix of retro chic, small town tavern, and hipster hangout. Go there! Eat! And I will see you next May......

I wanted to like this place. The reviews were all great and the place was cute. Our food however was so gross and I was sick to my stomach the rest of the day. Classic eggs Benedict was my dish the eggs were still so raw they were slimy. The hollandaise sauce was thick and heavy on the salt. My niece ordered "stuffed" french toast which was essentially a strawberry cream cheese sandwich. We ordered coffee and never got any refills. One of the orders at our table got messed up.... Instead of a full order of benedict with pulled pork, my friend only got a half order. It wasn't possible to complain we never saw our waitress again until she brought us the bill. I didn't realize until we were almost back home that they charged us for a full order of Benedict pulled pork even though we only got a half order.

I dined at this restaurant for Sunday brunch. Admittedly, it was busy but the service we did receive was awful. We ordered drinks and at no time were we asked if we'd like another. Yet the table next to us was asked 3 times. When our food came out the waitress literally slammed the plates on the table and turned abruptly and walked away. Never asked if we'd like anything else or a refill on our bone dry beverages. I had the pulled pork eggs Benedict and it would have probably been delicious had it been warm. It was room temperature at best. My husband had the coffee rubbed steak and eggs, his was hot. When we received our check, once again another waitress slammed it on the table without so much as a thanks for coming in or how was your food. No one ever asked. Will not be returning here, ever! It wasn't just one single server that was bad it was all three, the lady that took the order, the lady that slammed the food down, and the third lady that brought the check. I must say the best part of this experience was the hostess, very personable and friendly! All of the staff should take a page out of her book!

We stopped in for breakfast last weekend and it was packed. Good sign. My husband ordered the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict and I ordered the Frittata. His meal was AMAZING. Mine was not. I am not someone who likes a lot of salt, but my meal sure did need it to have any flavor what-so-ever. I had a Mimosa as well and that was very good. The decor was awesome-lots of art canvases every wall. Love that they have couches for sipping coffee or beer. Very unique establishment that has a bar on one side of the place and more of a breakfast sit down on the other side. We will return and recommend to friends and family who visit from out of town.

In any big city this place would be a hipster hot spot. Here in GB it's just a great neighborhood haunt. Very tasty food and good drinks. I have been mostly for brunch (you have to try the pulled pork benedict) but dinner is great also. I would suggest the Wednesday special Tenderloin Trio!

I came here a short time ago after a friend suggested meeting here for brunch one Sunday before a Packer game...I had never heard of White Dog Black Cat Cafe, but I certainly will remember it now! I'm a fan of going out for brunch, but I'm never sure where to go. Well, I think I may have found a new spot! The food was really delicious. I had the Spicy Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict: it was not spicy, but so amazing! I also tasted the Greek Frittata which was really good. My Bloody Mary was good too. They have a few different kinds, some of which were not as great, mine had an egg in it which was strange, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is definitely hipster; they had a seating area off across from the bar side which is where we ate. The bar was pretty busy, but there were enough open tables. Next time you are in the hunt for a great brunch spot, do yourself a favor and ignore IHOP and head down here.

Very cool vibe. Smell of wood fire fills room. Reminds me of a the kind of place you would stumble upon while driving through northern California.

Hidden gem is right. In a bigger city this place would be a hotspot. One of my favorite Green Bay spots. Great brunch & they also serve food late. I've had the swamp burger, gyro, and steak sandwich. I want to try the fish fry but haven't been yet. Low-key atmosphere here and indie music playing, board games stacked in the corner. Me likey.

Can I give this place zero stars? Went in on a Saturday afternoon for brunch and I am sitting here at this table wondering where to go next to redeem my Saturday. Service was bad, food was bad, bloodies were terrible. It was a mistake to come here.

The place stinks like cigarette smoke but the food was pretty good. I especially enjoyed the delicious Wild Mushroom Brie soup, and they have outstanding homemade potato chips. Yum!

I really enjoyed everything about my visit to White Dog Black Cat Cafe. The small menu had four specialty burgers, sandwiches, salads, a couple other entree choices and a selection of starters. All three of us ordered burgers, and decided to get a plate a sweet potato fries for the table. I'm so happy we did, because the fries were perfectly done, and the the marshmallow fluff on the side was a sweet surprise! We each got a differently specialty burger, mine had pepperjack, a secret sauce and 3-4 sweet potato fries on it. It was cooked just right, and the sauce was fun. The burgers come with home made potato chips. Always a little disappointed when there are no Coke products, but hey, no big deal. They had a special flying out the door - a $6 steak with mashed potatoes. Looks like they have that every saturday night. (at least as of 2/4/13). I'll definitely being going back.

Stupendous coffee, fun atmosphere and above average breakfasts. Worth the detour on a long road trip from Michigan to Madison.

Four of us came for Sunday brunch with a reservation. The food was pretty delicious--- I had the pulled pork Benedict, my husband the heart attack sandwich, our friends got the streak and the al pastor bene. We also had a Bloody Mary and a cocktail. Like I said, the food was good... But there were no "oh my god, this is fantastic!!"s at the table. The plating seemed really rushed. I'm not a snob, but this is the most expensive breakfast I've had in Green Bay, so I expected it to be cleaned up. It was the entee, a handful of these strange McDonald's-like hashbrown ovals and a half circle grapefruit slice. The potatoes are weird. Like, do they make them? Do the buy them, fry them and sprinkle them with parsley? They just laid flat on my plate, akimbo... And we're extremely salty. They'd be better of making a pot of potatoes and onions to match the flavor of their dishes (which was a little strange, but pretty good). Our server was nice, but sllooooooooowwwwwwww. Slow slow. I know the place was packed, but it kind of sounds like it's always packed for Sunday brunch? I've been to plenty of packed places on a Sunday that are diligent about your coffee, get you a water, get your order in a reasonable amount of time. Slow, drink order wrong, refills non existent. Also incredibly loud, but our baby loved that. Total bill for 4 of us plus tip was $80 (pancake place would have been $24, granted you can't get booze there). I think we'll be back at some point to give it another chance, but probably never try brunch again.

Wow! My breakfast was unbelievable. Hidden gem for sure! My parents are big fans of Black Cat, so we stopped in for breakfast on our way through town. I am so glad they brought me, and it will remain a spot I frequent on my Green Bay trips for sure! The location is great, and the interior is fun and trendy. I loved it much more than a standard diner for breakfast. The staff was friendly (I think mostly related), and very knowledgeable. I ordered the Al Pastor Eggs Benedict and I literally could not have enjoyed it more. It was unbelievable. I couldn't get enough of it, and at the same time it was so large I couldn't finish it. If Eggs Benedict were something you could bring home, I would have. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I did not think it was too spicy, although my mom (who doesn't eat spice much at all), thought there was a little after kick. My parents both loved their breakfasts as well, and had nothing but good things to say. It was relatively inexpensive too, only about $30 for the three of us. I know they will definitely be back, and I will beg them to bring me when I'm home!

Seems like a place that friends would meet for lunch or a young couple would go on a date. It is definitely a place that would much better fit in Madison or in a more trendy part of Milwaukee... Not Green Bay! With that said... Thank goodness there is an option like White Dog in our little city! The vibe is cool and the menu is unique. I had Fish Tacos and ordered the Mushroom Brie Soup as a substitute for the chips. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The bill for my lunch was on the north end of averaged for Green Bay. With an Iced Tea and tip it was around $18. Will be back to try one of their burgers and possibly a Sunday Brunch.

Heard it was a busy place so called ahead and they reserved a table for us (two adults and two children who are 5 and 7). The menu seems interesting and we were excited to try it. The Sunday menu is limited for children but we found something. We ordered the pulled pork eggs benedict, all pastor eggs benedict, and the peanut butter cream cheese stuffed french toast along with coffee and waters. Food was average. It wasn't bad but I could have made it at home and it would have been better. The hash brown nugget things seemed like it was a frozen food item. The french toast was very soft and when you cut it with the stuffing inside it turned into a big messy pile. Service was good and the food came out quickly. Would I go back? Maybe but not on a Sunday so we could check out the full menu. Service rating = 4 Food rating = 2.5
